Sean Murray Teases Another No Man’s Sky Update With Cryptic Emojis

Hello Games boss Sean Murray is teasing another No Man's Sky update with cryptic emojis. In two separate tweets now, Murray has shared a series of star emojis, or more specifically, the star emoji used to represent dizziness. It's not clear what that's meant to signify, but that hasn't stopped fans from guessing.

This comes shortly after last month's Omega update, which of course, was also teased with a string of emojis over on Murray's social media account. In that instance, the emoji he used revealed the name, as he tweeted the omega symbol. It might be the same this time around, likely meaning that the update will incorporate the word Star in its title, somehow.

Naturally, fans are already hard at work in the replies, trying to decipher what on earth Murray is communicating to us here. The only thing we can assume with any confidence is that a new update is on the way since we're all well aware of how Murray teases new patches at this point.

So, what is going to be in the next update? A couple of my No Man's Sky-playing colleagues (thank you Sam and David) suggested that the star emojis could be referring to starships. This could mean that the next update will finally add the ability to customise player ships, something fans have been waiting on for a while.

The last update, Omega, went live on February 14. It overhauled Expeditions, the limited-time events introduced in 2021, by improving the gear and ships that players start out with. The update made other changes outside of this mode too, like being able to steal from any pirate freighters you defeat by boarding them instead.

It's hard to tell when the next No Man's Sky update will be with us, but there was only a wait of a few days between Murray's last emoji tease and the Omega patch going live, so it could be released very soon. That's far from confirmed though, especially since it's only been a few weeks since Omega dropped, so take that with a pinch of salt. In the meantime, we'll have to see if Murray feels like dropping any more hints as to what the update will actually do. Admittedly, these teases are likely to take the form of more star emoji spamming, but I'm sure that won't stop fans from trying to figure it all out. They're used to all of this by now.
