Never let anybody tell you that Game Freak and The Pokemon Company have skimped on marketing money for Pokemon Legends: Z-A. We've had a built-to-be-viral Mega Malamar teaser, a horror-tinged teaser for Mega Victreebel, and a wrestling match between Hawlucha and Machamp which revealed the former's fresh new Mega.

It's that last one that's getting advertised all over again, courtesy of… a real-life wrestling match. Mexican firm CMLL has pulled off a full-scale collaboration sporting several of the hottest names in the nation's wrestling roster. It's, uh… it's wild.

Fight Night Redux

We wouldn't have heard about this without VGC's own sleuthing, so credit where credit's due. The lineup was split into two squads: Team Hawlucha and Team Machamp. I'm going to be real here: I don't even know how to describe the wrestling industry in my own country, let alone others, so you'll really want to watch the match firsthand for genuine insights.

What I can tell you is that, based on a skim, there was plenty of exciting action done in the names of two mighty Pokemon. I can tell you that Hawlucha is terrific in the Pokemon anime, too. Machamp? I've never been a big fan. So, I guess I'm rooting for Team Hawlucha's Mistico, Mascara Dorada, and Titan here. Which, if I'm comprehending things correctly, won the battle in the final telling.

Then again, so did Mega Hawlucha in Pokemon's big reveal vid, so that was probably the plan all along. Anyway, TheGamer had a hands-on with Pokemon Legends: Z-A just recently, and you should check out our coverage if you're itching for more intel as we race toward Z-A's October 16 launch!
