Pokemon GO: How To Get Shiny Darkrai & Best Moveset

With Darkrai making its way to raids once again in Pokemon GO, fans are wondering how they can get their hands on the shiny variant of the Pokemon in the game.

For players wondering if they can get a shiny Darkrai in Pokemon GO, the good news is that this variant does exist in the game. The Pokemon's color scheme undergoes a significant change in the shiny alternative, with the gray theme replaced with purple, and red replaced with pink. If players are unsure whether the Darkrai is shiny or not, they can simply look for a shiny symbol which can be found near the Pokemon's CP.

To get Shiny Darkrai, players will need to get their hands on a Darkrai first. Darkrai is a part of 5-star raids, so it shouldn't take players long to find one, but catching a shiny one can be quite tricky. Since this is a Legendary Pokemon, the standard odds of 1 in 20 apply to it. This doesn't really mean that every 20th Darkrai player encounter will be a shiny one, but instead, every time they encounter a Darkrai, it will have a 1 out of 20 odds of it being shiny. While it might sound like a bit too much, players usually get a shiny one in around 30 to 40 encounters, so the trick is to take part in as many battles as possible.

Best Moveset For Darkrai

Darkrai can learn a variety of moves, so choosing the right one can be quite tricky. Here are all the moves that can be learned by Dakrai, which consist of two fast moves, and four charged moves.

Fast Moves

Charged Moves

Feint Attack

Dark Pulse

Snarl

Shadow Ball

Sludge Bomb

Focus Blast

When it comes to Darkrai, players can actually can't go wrong with any of the moves as such. Any combination of Fast and Charged moves is quite effective for Dakrai, although if players are looking for the absolute best, then they should stick to Snarl and Shadow Bomb.

  • Snarl is a fast attack that deals 12 damage and generates 14 energy which can be used for charged moves. With 10.91 DPS, it is quite effective against Ghost and Psychic types, while being weak to fighting, dark, and fairy types. Not to forget, it also makes use of the STAB.
  • Shadow Bomb is a charged move which deals 100 damage and it costs 50 energy. It has a DPS of 33.33 and it is more effective against ghost and psychic type while being weak towards normal and dark type.
