Pokemon Concierge Is Officially Getting More Episodes

Pokemon Concierge proved to be a smash hit for Nintendo and Netflix, giving fans a more chilled out and adult TV show set in the Pokemon universe. Shortly after Netflix released the first handful of episodes, fans of the show raced to social media to beg the streaming platform to commission more episodes, with people infatuated by its cozy vibes.

Netflix is notoriously dodgy when it comes to greenlighting shows for more seasons, having axed a number of shows regardless of popularity or overall quality. Thankfully, it seems like someone over at Netflix was happy with the performance of Pokemon Concierge, as it has been confirmed that the show will be getting more episodes in the future.

This was confirmed via the PokemonUK Twitter account on Monday, which posted an adorable little image of main character Haru and her Psyduck friend, as well as the confirmation that more episodes of the show are currently in production. The post doesn't exactly detail how many episodes are in Season 2 or when they'll drop on Netflix, but it does tell fans to "stay tuned" for more official updates.

It's difficult to imagine the creators of Pokemon Concierge making a load more episodes, especially due to how time-consuming and difficult animating in stop-motion can be. It seems feasible that Netflix could have commissioned another four episodes, or a number similar to what was included in the first season, but I'm sure even just a couple of episodes would be music to the ears of fans that want more.

Whatever the case, we'll probably be waiting a while for them yet, especially as it's possible that a second season of Pokemon Concierge was more than likely greenlit due to the overwhelming popularity of the first. It felt like more of an experimental show at the time, and it's possible a second season was never really planned from the beginning, especially given how the show ends.

Now that we've successfully bullied Netflix into giving us more episodes, we now need to turn our attention to Game Freak. Another big request from fans of the show was for a slice of life game similar to Pokemon Concierge, and I have to agree. In fact, someone even went out of their way to turn the show into a Game Boy game, albeit distressingly unplayable right now.
