This past weekend was the busiest yet in what has already been a busy year for video game releases. Dragon's Dogma 2, Rise of the Ronin, and Princess Peach: Showtime all launched on the same day. Something for almost every type of game, and if Showtime is what you've been playing over the weekend, you may now want to kit yourself out in matching merch. Nintendo has a Peach Collection available now, and the message on the collection's tags is a cool tip of the hat to how far Peach has come and how her role has changed.
In the original Super Mario Bros, and some of the games after that where Mario's mission is to rescue Peach, the plumber is repeatedly told, "Thank you Mario! But our princess is in another castle!" The tags on Nintendo's Peach Collection merch depict that iconic scene, but there's a twist. Instead of being told Peach is in another castle, the 8-bit Mario is informed "Our Princess is on another adventure!"
Particularly appropriate that this detail has been spotlighted now due to the release of Showtime. The first game in which Peach has been the lead for a very long time, and while it might not have blown people away, Showtime is a marked improvement on the last game in which Peach was the main character. As for some of the Peach merch you can pick up in Nintendo's collection, the crown jewel is inarguably the Crown Vanilla hoodie and jogger set. The Peach Collection also includes a pink t-shirt with the same print of the princess as the one featured on the hoodie, a pink and blue hip bag with Peach's crown on the front, and some Peach hair ties that put a tiny crown on top of your head. All of the items in the collection are Nintendo exclusives, however, if you want some Peach hair accessories and you don't already own a copy of Showtime, Walmart's the place to go. Walmart is still giving away Peach scrunchies with copies of Showtime, including for customers who buy its Showtime and pastel pink Joy-Con bundle.

Nintendo continues to march towards new hardware which we're now expecting to release almost exactly a year from now if all goes to plan. However, Nintendo is yet to confirm that, or anything about what will follow the success of the Switch. There are more Switch games to come for the time being, including a Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door remake, and a Luigi's Mansion 2 remaster.
