It's been a pretty busy day for Magic: The Gathering fans, as Wizards of the Coast has outlined pretty much everything that's coming over the next year, including new original sets, Universes Beyond sets, and more. However, Wizards also had some other stuff up its sleeve including the announcement of a special crossover with PlayStation.

Announced by Wizards and PlayStation earlier today, this special collaboration will see seven unique Secret Lair drops next month on October 27, each one centered around a specific PlayStation game. The games included are The Last of Us Part 1, The Last of Us Part 2, Uncharted, God of War's Greek saga, God of War's Norse saga, Horizon Forbidden West, and Ghost of Tsushima.

Each Secret Lair will apparently feature key characters and locations from each of the games they represent, as Wizards of the Coast claims to have worked closely with the developers of each one to ensure they "capture the spirit of each game and bring them to life with stunning art and cards with unique mechanics."

  • Ellie and Joel MTG
  • Abby and Ellie MTG
  • Kratos MTG
  • Kratos and Atreus MTG
  • Aloy and Jin MTG

In a PlayStation Blog post, we get to see some of the cards (which you can also see above) that will be included in the Secret Lairs, all of which are depicting various iconic PlayStation protagonists and characters. All of these Secret Lairs will be available in foil and non-foil, and will be releasing in one big Superdrop on October 27 at 9am PT / 5pm BST / 6pm CEST on the Magic: The Gathering website.

Now, the only trouble with this Secret Lair Superdrop will actually be getting your hands on one of them. Wizards of the Coast hasn't done much to appease fans who have struggled to get Secret Lairs in the past, and doing so is extremely difficult thanks to there being limited quantities. PlayStation should prove to be a pretty massive collaboration for MTG, so chances are you'll need to be there bright and early if you want to get your hands on at least one.
