LEGO Fortnite is Getting an Unexpected Marvel Skin

Fortnite's LEGO mode is set to receive an all-new Marvel skin that fans have been eagerly awaiting for quite a while now. While Fortnite added LEGO versions of over 1,200 skins when the mode debuted, a majority of them lacked higher-quality models. This, however, seems to be an entirely new skin altogether.

Many were initially skeptical about the LEGO mode in Fortnite, but it has established a niche for itself and turned out to be a massive success. In fact, right after its launch, more Fortnite players were playing the LEGO mode than the classic Battle Royale mode. Since then, the game mode has evolved quite a bit, with Epic Games actively adding new features and mechanics to keep fans engaged. Another new LEGO update is on the radar, and it seems like an extremely popular character could be making its way to the game.

In an overview of its upcoming v29.10 Mechanical Mayhem Update, which is slated to release on March 26, Epic Games revealed what new features fans can expect from the game. However, what grabbed the attention of many was the featured image for the post, which featured several LEGO skins. Particularly, fan-favorite characters Drax and Groot from Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy franchise can be seen driving a car. While the former is already available in Fortnite, this is the first time that Drax will be debuting in the game.

Fortnite Finally Adding Drax Skin as Part of LEGO Update

Surprisingly, all main characters from Guardians of the Galaxy such as Gamora, Groot, and Star-Lord were added to Fortnite long ago, with Drax being the only exception. Fans have been requesting the release of Drax ever since Gamora was released in Fortnite a couple of years back. Considering that Star-Lord was added back in Chapter 1 Season 8, followed by Groot in Chapter 2 Season 4, fans had almost given up on the prospects of a Drax skin in Fortnite. However, it appears Epic Games has managed to surprise the community once again.

Over on Reddit, Fortnite players are quite excited about the release of the skin, with many humorously calling it an invisible pay-to-win skin. This is a reference to a hilarious moment in Avengers: Infinity War, where Drax says he has mastered the ability to become invisible by merely standing still. Jokes apart, a few fans are quite skeptical about the release if it ends up being inspired by the MCU version of Drax. This would put the entire Guardian of the Galaxy skin set all over the place, considering that Fortnite has abruptly shifted between comic and MCU versions for its Guardians of the Galaxy characters. Either way, the Fortnite v29.10 Update is shaping up to be quite an eventful one for fans.
