Knowing how to save your game at every important point in the campaign is how you keep your progression intact in Remnant 2. Considering the number of puzzles you have to solve, enemies to kill, bosses to defeat, and decisions to make, saving your progression becomes important.

How to save your game in Remnant 2?
Remnant 2 features a fairly simple and easy-to-use auto-save system that saves your game and progression in numerous ways. Unfortunately, there is no way to manually save your progression, and there is also no need due to how the auto-save feature works.
Here is how you can trigger the auto-save the next time you decide to go AFK for whatever reason.
Checkpoints
Interacting with any of the checkpoints near you will automatically save your game in Remnant 2. The checkpoints can be found in the shape of a Red Stone placed all around the map, especially at a new location’s starting point.
This also works in the case of your character’s unexpected death in Remnant 2, You will spawn at the checkpoint that you last interacted with.
Purchasing weapons
Weapons can be purchased or crafted using scraps and special crafting items obtained by defeating a boss or completing an event. You can bring these items to vendors in Ward 13.
Remnant 2 allows for an automatic save to keep your progress and equipment intact upon purchasing a new weapon or crafting it.
Remnant 2 Save File and Config File location
Players who are playing on PS5 or Xbox Series X|S have the privilege of cloud storage; however, PC players might have to back up their Remnant 2 Data to keep their progress from getting corrupted or for modding or customizing purposes.

Since Remnant 2 does not have a save file editor, you can make use of cheat engines to spawn certain enemies or locations.
Remnant 2 save bugs
Remnant 2 has been plagued with a plethora of issues since launch, and one of these issues involves the game not saving when interacting with checkpoints. This problem manifests on all platforms but it’s a bug in one of them. Xbox Series X|S quick resume feature prevents the game from saving at checkpoints, so make sure you save before you use this feature.
It is important to note that your game may not save straight away when at a Checkpoint. Often, you’ll have to progress a little further for the game to start and/or finish saving. Make sure you give yourself enough time for the game to do this before you exit your game. Furthermore, only large checkpoints save your game. The smaller ones do not.
How to load backup saves in Remnant 2
In case your Remnant 2 save file becomes corrupted or lost, you can load a backup save to restore your progress. On PS5 and Xbox, go to your cloud storage and download a previous version of the save file. On PC, you’ll have to make manual copies of the saved file.
Copy the save file at regular intervals from the path we’ve highlighted above. Should your save game become corrupted, copy and paste the old save file in the path to continue playing.
