Elden Ring Expansion Again Teased For February Launch

Elden Ring is on the cusp of its second anniversary, and FromSoftware is currently hard at work on the game’s first major expansion. Fans have been waiting for Shadow of the Erdtree for a while, and it appears that the wait is going to be over soon.

Recent leaks have already suggested that the DLC will be released next month. A collaboration has also been announced for February, suggesting that the long-awaited expansion may finally arrive in this month.

Why it matters: It was recently reported that the expansion has been in development for almost two years, suggesting that the developers have not compromised on the quality of the content.

Recently, PureArts announced a collaboration with Elden Ring, confirming a new collectible coming next month. However, the tweet states:

“Tarnished, you’ve waited long enough.”

With this choice of words and the launch scheduled to align with the game’s second anniversary, it appears PureArts is teasing fans with the release window of Shadow of the Erdtree.

While this is not much in terms of evidence, a previous collaboration from Thrustmaster also pointed to the same release window. Putting two and two together, PureArts’ choice of words appears to be quite intentional.

In the replies, fans are convinced that this is a teaser for the expansion’s release. Still, FromSoftware has yet to confirm anything officially, recently stating that the DLC would require a bit more development time.

Elden Ring

As FromSoftware continues to remain silent on the DLC, reports point to around 20 hours of content, making it bigger than the typical DLC release offered by the studio in the past.

The team could also be planning another DLC after Shadow of the Erdtree for 2025. Therefore, there is still a lot of life left in the game.

Combining all of the leaks and teasers, next month should be an interesting time for Elden Ring fans. The studio made the official announcement of the DLC in February last year, so it would not be too odd for the release date to fall in the same month.
