Wolverine is undoubtedly one of the most popular comic book characters ever created. There's just something about a hairy, angry man with adamantium claws that everyone loves. As Logan turns 50 years old, Hasbro has a limited line of two-pack Marvel Legends action figures to commemorate some of his most iconic encounters and looks.
The first, and arguably most recognisable pack features a face-off between Wolverine and his eternal nemesis Sabretooth. Costing $50, the two-pack features Logan in his casual outfit – a flannel shirt, jeans, boots, and a cowboy hat. It also features accessories like a spare hat and a deck of playing cards. Sabretooth, meanwhile, is rocking his iconic orange and brown suit and signature menacing expression.
The second pack features an encounter between Wolvie and the Shi'ar empress Lilandra Neramani. However, in this version He's infected by the dreaded Brood that threatens to destroy the Shi'ar. Lilandra can be seen in her iconic Shi'ar empress outfit, adorned in silver, along with her energy trident. With Wolverine infected by the Brood, it's up to the empress to fight him and save her own empire.
The third pack features another fan-favourite character from the X-Men roster, Psylocke. While she's normally not evil, this version of her has donned the Ten Rings, giving her a power boost, and making her dangerous. Wolverine can be seen in his black X-Force outfit, albeit without the mask and sleeves. This is a battle for the ages – brute force and steel against telepathic abilities.
These three action figure sets are up for pre-order on Hasbro Pulse along with a few other online toy stores. Considering how many great costumes and encounters Wolverine has had over the years, there might be more sets waiting in the wings. Perhaps encounters versus Magneto, Mister Sinister, or even The Hulk?
Pre-orders for the action figure sets are set to ship on April 1, 2024. While some may be sold out, something of this popularity is bound to get a restock. Not that it ever waned, but Wolverine's popularity is at an all time high with Hugh Jackman set to return to the role in Deadpool 3, along with the massive leak that hit Insomniac's Wolverine game.
